Project Discussion:

AECS was contracted by a private client to conduct an investigation and develop plans for the removal and subsequent replacement of underground storage tanks associated with the emergency power supply for 25 communication towers in the Atlanta area.  AECS visited each tower site and made an assessment of the environmental situation at each of the towers.  A determination was made of whether the underground storage tanks should be removed or closed in place, depending on location and possible impact on the tower support system.  Coordination was made with the State and local officials in each tower area location to obtain the necessary permits for the removal/closure of the tanks.  A Cost Estimate was made for the removal/closure of existing underground storage tanks and an assessment was made of the subsequent requirements and specifications for a replacement aboveground storage tanks at each of the locations with a bill of materials and the installation costs associated with the replacement. A report of this information, along with the permits was submitted to the client.
