Investigative Derived Waste
Drums Management

During a multi-phase environmental investigation, a significant quantity of investigative derived waste (IDW) was generated including purge water, soil cuttings, and used personal protective equipment. AECS was contracted to characterize, consolidate, and arrange compliant disposal of all IDW drums.

Scope of Work

  • Inventory and condition assessment of all accumulated IDW drums on site
  • Sampling and laboratory analysis to characterize waste streams for disposal purposes
  • Overpacking of damaged or deteriorated drums to ensure safe transport
  • Waste profiling and approval coordination with licensed disposal facilities
  • Preparation of all shipping documentation including manifests and land disposal restriction notices
  • Coordination of licensed hazardous waste transporter and transport logistics
  • Provision of Certificates of Disposal for all waste streams
  • Final site documentation and waste disposal summary report

Results

All IDW was successfully characterized, packaged, and disposed of in full compliance with RCRA regulations. Complete chain-of-custody documentation and Certificates of Disposal were provided to the client and the regulatory agency overseeing the site investigation.
