Petroleum Contaminated
Soil Removal

AECS was retained to perform the excavation and off-site disposal of petroleum-contaminated soils at a former fueling facility. The project involved the identification of the full extent of contamination through soil sampling, followed by targeted excavation to remove all impacted material.

Scope of Work

  • Pre-excavation soil sampling to delineate contamination boundaries
  • Mobilization of heavy equipment and environmental field personnel
  • Careful excavation and segregation of contaminated soil from clean material
  • Stockpile management and dust/vapor suppression controls
  • Manifesting, transportation, and off-site disposal at a licensed facility
  • Confirmation sampling to verify cleanup standards were achieved
  • Site backfill, compaction, and surface restoration
  • Preparation of closure documentation submitted to Georgia EPD

Results

All petroleum-impacted soils were successfully removed and disposed of in accordance with state and federal regulations. Confirmation sampling demonstrated that cleanup standards were met, and the project received regulatory closure from Georgia EPD.
